Major portion of budget package to be used for welfare of female tea workers and their kids
A larger portion of the Rs.1,000 crore fund announced in the Union Budget for the welfare of tea workers will be used for women who work in the tea estates and their children in Assam and West Bengal. Tea Board of India is currently working out the modalities of the welfare scheme, which will be shortly submitted to the Union commerce ministry.
