Dhoedaam Tea Estate
The name Dhoedaam translates to “Abode of Gods” in the local dialect, reflecting the estate’s deep cultural roots. Originally, there were two estates—Pabbojan and Dhoedaam—which were amalgamated in 1970. The name Pabbojan is derived from a river along the division’s periphery, which was once abundant with Pabo fish.
Situated in Borhapjan, within the premium tea-growing belt of Upper Assam, Dhoedaam Tea Estate is the largest of Rossell Tea’s seven estates. With a history spanning over 110 years, the estate covers 889.08 hectares of tea plantations, comprising 47% clonal tea and 53% seed stock. The estate produces 1.8 million kilograms of CTC tea annually, with some high-value Orthodox tea crafted during the second flush in May and June.
