Kharikatia Tea Estate

Originally planted by the Jorhat Tea Company Limited in 1874 under the name “Koreekuttea,” the estate was later renamed Kharikatia in 1939. Rossell took over this historic estate in November 2012, adding it to its portfolio of exceptional tea gardens.

Situated in the prized tea belt of Assam’s Jorhat District, Kharikatia Tea Estate benefits from top-quality CTC clones such as S3A3, T3E3, TV1, TV17, and Betjan, contributing to its reputation for producing Golden Cups with bright infusions, excellent flavour, and an impressive shelf life. The estate’s teas are highly sought after by discerning Indian buyers for their consistent quality. Notably, Kharikatia has been consistently ranked among the top 15 quality marks at the North India Auction Centres for Assam-origin teas, reinforcing its position as a leading producer of premium teas. Although located in a dry and hot region of Assam, Kharikatia has implemented an ambitious green drive to improve the local microclimate. This includes the creation of water bodies, vegetative propagation, and extensive tree plantation, ensuring a more sustainable and balanced environment.
