Nokhroy Tea Estate

Steeped in history and heritage, Nokhroy Tea Estate traces its name back to the early 19th century. In 1816, the village of Halcyon Chuck sought to avoid conflict with the advancing Burmese army by offering a gesture of peace and respect—‘Nine Platters’ (Na-Horai). Over time, the village came to be known as “Na Horai,” eventually evolving into Nokhroy, symbolising peace and mutual respect.

Nokhroy Tea Estate is renowned for its clean and elegant Orthodox teas, known for their vibrant colour and exceptional quality. The estate is home to the celebrated Nokhroy N436 clone, prized for their distinctive character and consistency. A robust programme of uprooting and replanting is currently underway to further enhance the quality of the fields and ensure continued excellence in tea production.
