Nagrijuli Tea Estate

The name ‘Nagrijuli’ originates from the local phrase “Narchi-Juri,” meaning “eternal spring.” True to its name, Nagrijuli teas embody the refreshing essence of an everlasting spring.

Nestled in the Bhutan hills on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra River, the estate benefits from diverse climatic conditions compared to the South Bank, with lower pest incidence. The Baranadi River, a mountain stream originating in Bhutan, flows gracefully through the garden, further enriching the estate’s unique environment. The lush surroundings of Nagrijuli support thriving wildlife, with wild elephants and other animals often seen in and around the estate, adding to its unique charm.

Nagrijuli Tea Estate is renowned for its consistent and bright CTC teas, which are highly sought after in the domestic prime quality market. Its Orthodox teas, characterised by a sappy bright liquor and distinctive leaf style, further distinguish the estate as a producer of premium teas. The estate's flexibility to produce both CTC and Orthodox teas ensures a versatile offering for diverse markets. A major project is underway to upgrade quality in the fields through uprooting and replanting high-quality clones, ensuring that Nagrijuli maintains its legacy of excellence. Beyond its estates, Nagrijuli is committed to fostering strong partnerships with small tea growers in the region. By sourcing top-quality tea leaves from these growers and ensuring fair pricing, the estate supports local farmers while upholding its high standards of quality. Technical guidance and field inputs are also provided to these growers, fostering collaboration and sustainability. Teas sourced from these partnerships are packed and marketed under the Bansibagh mark, offering customers a range of exceptional teas while supporting the local community and protecting the environment.
